I. Common Applications of PU Waterproof Coating

 

    Roof Waterproofing: PU coatings provide a seamless, durable, and UV-resistant layer to protect roofs from water infiltration and weathering.

    Basement and Foundation Waterproofing: PU coating is applied to prevent water ingress in underground structures, protecting them from groundwater seepage.

    Bathroom and Wet Area Waterproofing: Used in bathrooms, kitchens, and other wet areas to prevent moisture from damaging walls and floors.

    External Wall Waterproofing: PU coatings protect external walls from rainwater and environmental damage, reducing maintenance costs and improving building longevity.

 

II. PU Waterproof Coating Application Process

 

    Surface Preparation

        Clean the application surface thoroughly to remove any dust, oil, grease, or loose particles. This may involve scrubbing, power washing, or vacuuming.

        Repair any visible cracks or surface irregularities with appropriate sealants or fillers to create a smooth, even base for coating application.

 

    Priming

        Apply a primer suitable for the PU coating to improve adhesion and seal the substrate. Primers vary depending on the type of substrate (concrete, wood, metal, etc.).

        Allow the primer to dry according to the manufacturer’s instructions, ensuring it has cured before applying the PU coating.

 

    Application of PU Waterproof Coating

        Mix the PU coating thoroughly before application, following the manufacturer's guidelines.

        Apply the first layer of PU coating with a roller, brush, or spray machine. This layer should be even and consistent, with no pooling or thin spots.

        Allow the first coat to dry. The drying time varies with environmental conditions but typically takes 6-24 hours.

 

    Applying Additional Layers

        For better waterproofing, apply a second (or sometimes third) coat after the previous layer has dried. This builds up the thickness, enhancing durability and waterproofing capabilities.

        Ensure that each layer is evenly applied and fully cured before adding subsequent layers.

 

    Curing and Inspection

        Allow the PU coating to cure completely, which can take from 24-72 hours depending on the product and environmental factors.

        Once cured, inspect the surface for uniformity and verify that there are no gaps, blisters, or imperfections.

 

III. Example Application Solutions

 

    Roof Waterproofing Solution

        Use a UV-resistant PU waterproof coating to withstand prolonged sun exposure.

        After surface preparation and priming, apply multiple layers of the PU coating, ensuring an even, smooth finish. Final curing ensures a seamless and weatherproof roof layer.

 

    Basement Waterproofing Solution

        For basements, select a PU coating that provides high resistance to water pressure and ground moisture.

        Thoroughly clean and prime the basement walls and floor, then apply multiple layers of PU coating to protect against groundwater intrusion.

 

    Bathroom and Wet Area Waterproofing

        Use a fast-curing, flexible PU coating with mildew-resistant properties.

        Prepare the surfaces (walls, floors) by cleaning and priming, then apply a PU coating to create a waterproof barrier that prevents seepage and moisture damage.

 

    External Wall Waterproofing Solution

        For external walls, choose a PU coating with both waterproof and UV-resistant properties.

        Clean and prime the walls, then apply at least two layers of PU coating to create a durable and weather-resistant barrier against rain and other environmental factors.
