I. Common Applications of Sand-Fixing Agent

Reinforcement of Weak Substrates: Used on surfaces like low-strength putty layers, degraded cement mortar layers, or poorly adhered plaster that may powder or crumble.

Pre-treatment for Wallpaper Installation: Applied to putty layers prior to wallpapering to enhance surface strength and adhesion, providing a stable base for wallpaper.

Sealing and Strengthening of Renovation Surfaces: Applied to substrates that have been re-exposed, such as old concrete layers or low-hardness putty layers, to improve surface integrity before repainting or resurfacing.

II. Application Process for Sand-Fixing Agent

    Surface Preparation

Clean the surface to remove any dust, loose particles, or contaminants. Use a brush or vacuum if needed.

Ensure the surface is dry and free of any oils or residues that could interfere with the sand-fixing agent’s penetration and bonding.

    Product Mixing and Preparation

Shake or stir the sand-fixing agent thoroughly to ensure a uniform mixture, especially if it contains multiple components.

Some products may require dilution with water; follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the correct dilution ratio to maximize penetration depth and performance.

    Application of Sand-Fixing Agent

Use a roller, brush, or sprayer to apply the sand-fixing agent evenly over the prepared surface.

Ensure even coverage, allowing the agent to penetrate into the surface to strengthen the low-strength substrate and bond loose particles.

For highly porous or weak areas, multiple coats may be necessary to achieve desired results. Allow each coat to dry before applying the next.

    Drying and Curing

Allow the sand-fixing agent to cure based on the product specifications. This typically takes several hours but may vary depending on humidity, temperature, and layer thickness.

Avoid disturbing or applying additional products on top of the treated surface until it is fully cured to ensure maximum effectiveness.

    Post-Application Preparation

Once cured, inspect the treated surface for firmness. If necessary, apply additional layers for further reinforcement.

After confirming the surface is properly stabilized, proceed with the next steps, such as putty, painting, or wallpaper application.

III. Example Application Solutions

Reinforcement for Powdering Putty or Low-Strength Mortar Layers

Preparation: Clean the powdering surface thoroughly, removing all loose debris. Mix the sand-fixing agent if required.

Application: Apply the sand-fixing agent with a roller or brush, working it into the substrate to ensure thorough penetration.

Curing: Allow the agent to cure completely, ensuring the surface becomes firmer and resistant to powdering.

Finishing: After curing, the surface is ready for further putty applications or painting without risk of detachment or mold growth.

    Base Protection Before Wallpaper Installation

Preparation: Smooth out and clean the putty layer to create an even surface for wallpaper adhesion.

Application: Apply the sand-fixing agent evenly to the entire surface to strengthen the putty layer and seal it, creating an ideal base for wallpaper.

Curing: Allow the sand-fixing agent to cure, ensuring it provides a stable, non-porous surface for wallpaper adhesive.

Wallpaper Installation: Proceed with wallpapering once the agent has fully cured, improving long-term adhesion and reducing the risk of bubbling or detachment.

Concrete Surface Treatment After Putty Removal

Preparation: Clean the concrete surface thoroughly after removing the old putty layer. Sand down any rough or uneven areas if needed.

Application: Apply the sand-fixing agent evenly across the exposed concrete surface, paying extra attention to areas that show signs of low adhesion or crumbling.

Curing: Allow curing according to product guidelines. This will provide a reinforced base ready for a new layer of putty or a direct paint application.

Finishing: Once the sand-fixing agent has fully bonded with the substrate, proceed with the new putty or paint application, ensuring durable adhesion.
